Have questions? Here are some common concerns answered to help you feel prepared for your massage experience.
Are there any health conditions that prevent massage?
Yes, certain health conditions can make massage unsafe or less beneficial. These include contagious diseases, recent injuries, severe skin conditions, and cardiovascular problems. When making an appointment, you'll be sent a consultation form in order to make sure massage therapy is right for you.
What do you wear for a full body massage?
I would suggest wearing something comfortable and that is easy to put on and take off. Wearing loose fitting, comfy clothing will help to prolong that relaxed feeling after your massage.
Is it better to shower before or after a massage?
After a massage, you may wish to leave the oils on your skin to continue moisturising and nourishing. However, some people prefer to shower straight after which will do no harm at all.
What are the prices for massage in the UK?
Prices for a massage can vary hugely. Our prices are very reasonable, starting at only £30! For details of prices of individual treatments, please go to our booking page.
What payment methods do you accept?
Payment details are usually taken at the time of booking in order to secure your appointment. During your appointment, payment can be made either using the came card or by cash, or a different card, including Apple Pay and Google Pay.
What to expect from a full body massage?
Before your massage, there will be time for a consultation where we can discuss your specific needs and any areas you would like me to focus on during the massage treatment. During a full body massage, I would usually include the back of the legs, the back and shoulders – the client then turns onto their front and I massage the front of the legs and feet, the arms and hands then the neck, face and head.
Do I have to take my clothes off when I get a massage?
It is possible to receive a massage fully clothed. I can perform a massage regardless of attire but usually, depending on the type of massage, clients undress to their underwear. Don’t worry though, I will leave the room while you do this and there are large towels to cover yourself once on the massage bed. Intimate areas will remain covered during the treatment and it is very important to me that clients feel comfortable throughout.
What not to say during a massage?
There aren’t too many hard and fast rules – some clients prefer to receive their massage without talking and would rather enjoy the relaxing music, while others like to talk throughout the massage. Either way, I’m happy to oblige.
What should you not do before a full body massage?
It’s not ideal to eat a large meal before a massage, as laying down for an extended period of time can be uncomfortable.
Should I shave before a massage?
It's not necessary to shave prior to getting a massage. This is completely up to you and whatever makes you feel most comfortable.
How often should I get massage?
Regular massages can help with pain relief, improve flexibility and range of motion, and promote overall well-being. Generally, one massage a week is recommended, especially if you have a specific health condition or injury.
Can I book recurring appointments?
You can use our booking app - Fresha, to make appointments as frequently as you'd like. It also shows my availability and any upcoming promotions.
